Frequently Asked Questions

Product

Is the holder sized for a Hong Kong A4 marriage certificate?

Yes. It is designed around a Hong Kong A4 marriage certificate and takes a standard 297 x 210 mm certificate whole, without folding.

What materials are available?

There are 2 colours and 6 designs, making 12 combinations. The material follows the colour: linen for beige, frosted pearl for blue.

How do linen and frosted pearl differ?

Linen (beige) has a natural matte texture and a warm hand, suiting a minimal style. Frosted pearl (blue) has a fine pearl sheen and looks more luxurious. Both are hard covers with a thick lining, durable and moisture-resistant, and built to keep a certificate for years.

How do the Designer and Classic designs differ?

The Classic design is clean and understated, carrying only the couple names and the wedding date. The Designer design offers more style options — floral motifs, geometric shapes and so on — and can include a chosen line. Both are HK$388, and both the linen and the frosted pearl colours are available.

Can the holder be given as a wedding gift?

Yes, it is one of the most popular wedding gifts: the cover carries the couple names and wedding date, which makes it genuinely keepsake-worthy. Plenty of friends and relatives order one as a surprise for the newlyweds. The stamping is done by heat transfer, in a gold or silver finish.

Do you have a physical shop?

We sell online only and have no physical shop. You can browse our linen and frosted pearl catalogue on Instagram or WhatsApp and settle the order details with us there. If you need to, we can also arrange a face-to-face handover.

Customisation

What text can be printed on the holder?

You can have the couple names — in Chinese or English — and the wedding date printed, using the heat-transfer stamping process in a gold or silver finish. The Designer design can also carry a chosen line, such as a quote about love or a word of thanks.

Can the stamping be gold or silver?

Yes. The heat-transfer stamping can be done in gold or silver.

Can Chinese and English names be mixed, and can the font be customised?

Yes. We support mixed Chinese and English printing, and the designer pairs the stamping fonts for you — an elegant serif for the English names alongside a calligraphic typeface for the Chinese — so the whole reads as one design.

Can I order just one holder?

Yes. You can order a single holder or a pair, with no minimum quantity — one or two, both at HK$388 each. Many customers order a pair, one for each partner, as a wedding keepsake.

Can the wording be changed after the order is confirmed?

Before the design proof is approved we check every line of text with you, and stamping only starts once you have confirmed it. Raise any change before you approve the proof — once production has begun it can no longer be altered.

Do the holders fit overseas marriage certificates?

The standard size is designed for a Hong Kong A4 certificate (210mm x 297mm). If you need a certificate size from another country or region, contact us and we will check whether it can be made to size.

Can I print a photo or a pattern on the holder?

The standard service is heat-transfer stamping of the names and the date. If you need a particular pattern or a photo printed, contact us and we will assess it case by case.

Ordering & delivery

How does ordering work?

Pick a design and colour — beige linen or blue frosted pearl — then give us the couple names and the wedding date. We confirm the design proof, stamp the holders, and deliver. You can do all of it through Instagram, WhatsApp or the online order form.

How long does a custom order take?

Custom orders take about 7-14 business days depending on order volume, and production starts once the design proof is confirmed. Contact us if the date is tight.

Which payment methods do you accept?

You can pay by FPS, PayMe, bank transfer or PayPal, which covers both Hong Kong and overseas customers. The order is HK$388 per holder.

How is delivery handled and what does it cost?

Local post within Hong Kong is free, and SF Express is available on a pay-on-delivery basis; the charge is separate from the HK$388 product price. For overseas shipping please ask us for a quote and we will arrange the most suitable option.

Can I collect the order in person?

We sell online only and have no shop, so there is no self-collection point. If you would like a face-to-face handover we can arrange one individually; the holder is handed over only once it has been stamped and packed.

After-sales & other

How much does a holder cost?

HK$388 per holder, the same across every design and colour, including the printing of the couple names and wedding date.

How do I clean and care for the holder?

Wipe the surface with a dry soft cloth, and keep it away from water and chemical solvents, which damage the pearl coating. Store it somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight. Proper care keeps the holder looking new for years.

What if the holder I received is faulty?

If a production fault leaves you with a quality problem — a printing error, or a size that does not match — we will correct or remake it free of charge, re-stamping the cover as needed. Please contact us within 7 days of receiving it.

How do I contact customer service?

Reach us on Instagram (@myo.makeyourown) or WhatsApp (+852 6379 6410); we usually reply within 24 hours. Before you write, you can also look through the photos of the beige linen and blue frosted pearl designs and pick the one you like.

Can I see a sample first?

We do not send out physical samples. You can still start with the materials guide: it sets linen and frosted pearl side by side — texture, hand feel and the style each suits — and includes care advice, so you can compare the two first.
